Accenture’s report on the costs of cybercrime

Accenture has published its 2017 report on the costs of cybercrime.

The report offers interesting insights about the topics Hermeneut research on, highlighting that:

  1. Social engineering is lowering costs of cybercrime;
  2. Discovering attackers is becoming more difficult, and it takes on average 50 days;
  3. Financial consequences of cyber attacks are worstening.

The study is supported by eight years of research from the Ponemon Institute and Accenture, and evaluates 254 companies in seven countries: Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom and the United States. The report is freely available on their website.
