We are glad to invite you to join us on Monday the 3rd of June 2019 in London for our final conference. The Hermeneut conference “Protecting intangible assets from cyber attacks” will take a look back at the project. Together with participants, we will evaluate and discuss cyber threats and the potential impacts these could have on the value of assets like reputation and intellectual property rights (IPR).

Cyber attacks can harm intangible assets. In fact, there is severe imbalance between the efficiency of attacks and adequacy of defences. In part, this is due to the lack of quantitative information for decision makers to optimise security investments. That is why the primary focus of the Hermeneut project has been to model the increasing cyber threats and the potential impacts these could have on the value of these assets. Hermeneut applies new approach thinking for dynamic risk modelling and cyber security. After two years of collaborative interdisciplinary research and application, the project will finally conclude in June 2019 with the release of its organisational decision support tool.

Why you should attend

This conference marks the closure of the Hermeneut project. Above all, it will be an opportunity to hear from the international project teams, to discuss research and methodologies, and to hear presentations of their findings. In addition, the conference includes presentations from economists, cyber security and behavioural experts, risk modellers and security specialists. The presentations will focus on the increased importance of the three main intangible assets categories: IP, value from personal data and economic competencies, such as specialist skills and business models. Then, the event will conclude with an opportunity to explore the decision support tool and discuss its application in two key industry sectors.

Who should attend

Attend this event if you are an individual or business with an interest in understanding more about cyber security. This event is also suitable for risk and cyber security specialists, cyber insurance businesses, health service organisations and financial service companies.
