“Protecting intangible assets from cyber attacks” conference. Presentations
On the 3rd of June 2019, Hermeneut held its final conference in London. The Hermeneut conference “Protecting intangible assets from cyber attacks” took a look back at the project. Together with participants, Hermeneut discussed cyber threats and the potential impacts these could have on the value of assets like reputation and intellectual property rights (IPR).
Cyber attacks can harm intangible assets. In fact, there is severe imbalance between the efficiency of attacks and adequacy of defences. In part, this is due to the lack of quantitative information for decision makers to optimise security investments. That is why the primary focus of the Hermeneut project has been to model the increasing cyber threats and the potential impacts these could have on the value of these assets. Hermeneut applies new approach thinking for dynamic risk modelling and cyber security. After two years of collaborative interdisciplinary research and application, the project concluded in June 2019 with the release of its organisational decision support tool.
